Roots of the West,

Hand-blocked cowboy hats in every fur felt, hide, and straw — from pure beaver and rabbit blends to waxed steerhide and woven shantung — shaped over live steam by master hatters.
Not Just A Hat.
an unbroken Code.
A true cowboy hat carries the dust of the corral, the chill of sunrise on the high ridge, and the dignified spirit of independence. At LP HAT CO, we refuse shortcuts. We work the full spectrum of premium materials — pure beaver fur felt, beaver-and-rabbit blends, heavy wool felts, waxed full-grain steerhide, and hand-woven shantung straw — each dense enough to deflect downpours and supple enough to last generations.
Iconic Western Crowns
Whether riding fence lines or entering high boardroom summits, the crown crease defines your presence.
The Cattleman Crease
The undisputed monarch of western headwear. A sharp center crease flanked by two distinct side dents for effortless grasping and hat tipping.
Brim: 4 1/4" • Crown: 4 5/8"The Teardrop / Pinch
Sculpted with an oval depression on top that resembles a water drop, paired with front side pinches. Low-profile, sleek, and aerodynamic.
Brim: 3 3/4" • Crown: 4 1/4"The Brick & Telescope
Flat squared-off top favored by Texas trail bosses and gambled card rooms. Offers supreme interior headspace and air circulation.
Brim: 4" • Crown: 4 1/2"The Anatomy of a Master Crown
Every LP HAT CO crown is built from four elemental parts. Understanding them is the first step to a hat that fits your skull and your story.
The Crown
The dome of the hat, creased by hand over steam. Its height and shape — cattleman, teardrop, or brick — define your silhouette and headroom.
The Brim
The flat or curled edge that shields you from sun, rain, and wind. Width, curl, and binding determine protection and presence.
The Sweatband
A hand-sewn Moroccan lambskin band lining the interior. It grips the head, wicks moisture, and shapes itself to your skull over time.
The Hatband
The finishing accent — braided horsehair, tooled leather, or sterling conchos — that crowns the base of the crown and carries your personal mark.
Find Your Crown Size
Measure your head where the hat sits — just above the ears and eyebrows — for an heirloom fit.
How To Measure
Wrap a soft tape around your head, just above the ears and eyebrows.
Keep the tape level and snug — not tight. Note the measurement.
